The Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer claimed “the cost of welfare” is set to reach £70 billion a year by the end of the decade.

This figure appears to only refer to the forecast for spending on health and disability benefits for working-age adults. The overall welfare bill is much higher.
It’s been four months since we launched our Government Tracker, which now monitors the progress of 51 Labour pledges.

Our blog gives an update on some of our findings so far - we’ve found it difficult or impossible to meaningfully rate 12 pledges due to unclear wording or a lack of key information.
Hoax posts about serial killers, stabbings and other alarming stories are still swamping local Facebook groups, 18 months after a major Full Fact investigation.

In February we identified at least 47 communities across the UK which had been the victim of the bogus appeals or warnings.
